ITV has announced it’s commissioned a brand new crime series with Richard Armitage to take the lead, here’s what we know so far about Winter.

Excitement is building for what ITV promises to be a “captivating” procedural, here’s a breakdown of the information ITV has shared about Winter:

What’s it about?

The series is set to follow the story of renowned pathologist Dr. Ethan Winter, who works alongside DI Lauren Bell. The two team up to to help out Bell’s squad of homicide detectives. As the series unfolds, it becomes clear that he is being haunted by his past. The murder of somebody close to him presents an opportunity for resolution, and possibly revenge, as he unofficially works on his personal case alongside the official work presented to him by Bell.

Who’s in it?

The current announcement of the cast includes Richard Armitage (Missing You) and Annabel Scholey (The Sixth Commandment). The pair will take on the roles of Dr. Ethan Winter and DI Lauren Bell respectively. More cast members will be announced in the future.

Who’s behind it?

The series has been adapted by David Allison (The Couple Next Door) and Mark Greig (Ashes to Ashes). Dries Vos (The Couple Next Door) will be directing the series.
