An adaptation of the Crossroads novel is currently in development at Netflix, here’s a break down of all of the latest updates:
What’s it about?
Adapting the Jonathan Franzen novel of the same name, the Netflix series will tell the story of a midwestern pastor’s life unravels after a scandal in the church. His family life splinters and each family member abandons their predetermined traditional lives. Each member flees in whichever direction their own personal desires pull them, a darkly comedic set of stories unfold against the epic backdrop of 1970’s America.
Who’s in it?
There’s very little information on the project as of right now, due to it being kept under the hush-hush development incubator over at Netflix. The only actor currently known to be attached to the project is Jeremy Strong, known most recently for his portrayal of Kendall Roy in the extremely popular HBO series, Succession. This leaves plenty of roles open to be filled, especially those in the protagonist pastor’s family.
Who’s behind it?
Similar to the casting information, there’s currently only a few breadcrumbs of information about the team that will be behind Crossroads as of right now. Amy Herzog (Scenes from a Marriage) is currently attached as a writer and executive producer. Also attached to executive produce are Franzen, Michael Ellenberg (Pachinko) and Lindsey Springer (The Morning Show).
