The highly-anticipated project between tabletop giant Critical Role, Titmouse and Prime Video was announced at New York Comic-Con. Here’s what we know so far.

Critical Role is best known for their presence on YouTube and Twitch, where they play tabletop campaigns to a large and adoring audience. They’ve also been known to play at multiple sold-out live shows. Their latest project is The Mighty Nein, created alongside Titmouse and to be released on Prime Video.

What’s it about?

The animated story of The Mighty Nein will follow characters such as a homeless wizard, an intoxicated goblin, an adrift sailor, a cocky ringmaster, a temperamental monk and a character that’s only been described as “chaos incarnate”. This band of outcasts will learn to work together as a relic falls into the wrong hands and threatens to unravel the fabric of reality itself.

Who’s in it?

The series features familiar faces from Critical Role such as Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, Sam Riegel, Taliesin Jaffe, Travis Willingham and Liam O’Brien. They’ll star alongside the likes of Alan Cumming (Glenrothan), Ming-Na Wen (Blue Eye Samurai), Mark Strong (1917) and Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls).

When’s it out?

The series will premiere on November 19 on Prime Video.
