Quantum Leap gets a season 2 from NBC
With the customary complaint we still can’t (legitimately) watch season 1 here in the UK, we at Cultbox were still very pleased to read of a second season for Quantum Leap. Considering how many shows have been cancelled recently, this is good news indeed.
The story broke on Deadline, here’s what you need to know:
The renewal comes midway through the series’ first season which has seen solid ratings. Starring Raymond Lee, the Quantum Leap pilot is currently up to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 10.8 million viewers across linear, digital and streaming platforms, according to Nielsen and the network. The reboot is NBC’s best-ever drama launch on Peacock and is the #2 new broadcast show of the season in the 18-49 demo.
There’s also a quote from Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming:
“We’re leaping into a second season thanks to the incredible work by our cast, producers, writers and everyone who has played a role in giving this iconic NBC series a new life. As we continue to bring audiences to our must-watch dramas, it’s gratifying to know Quantum Leap will have a prominent place next season both on our NBC schedule and next day on Peacock.”
If only the show would make the simpler leap across the Atlantic we’d be even more pleased!
