Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been talking about Game Of Thrones season 8, revealing that he loves the scripts and is nearly finished with his final work as Jaime Lannister.
“I don’t think it’ll ever be gone from my life. I’m going back to Belfast next week,” Coster-Waldau told Variety in a new interview. “I’m not 100% done, but I’ve shot the last scene with me.”
It’s unclear exactly what this trip back to Belfast will entail, but it could be something as simple as recording additional dialogue for the editors to splice into shots if they need to. Of course, the production of Game Of Thrones is always shrouded in secrecy, but that didn’t stop the actor from enthusing about the season’s contents in a nice vague way.
“They just couldn’t have done a better job on ending our story,” Coster-Waldau is quoted as saying. “We’ve worked harder than ever before. We spent twice as much shooting these six episodes than we did on two full seasons before. No expense has been spared. We’ve gone all in.”
Exciting times indeed. We’ll have to wait until 2019 to see how the warring houses of Westeros finally put an end to their sprawling conflict, and thanks to Coster-Waldau, our hype levels have just gone up a notch.
We’ll bring you more Game Of Thrones news as we hear it.
