Ratings roundup: ‘Outcasts’, ‘Mad Dogs’ and ‘Bedlam’ debut

Reuniting Life On Mars stars Philip Glenister and John Simm, Episode 1 of the four-part serial won 967,000 viewers on Thursday night.

On the same night, ITV1’s supernatural drama Marchlands continued to perform strongly, with Episode 2 pulling in 5.7 million viewers to win the slot, before adding another 138,000 viewers on ITV1+1.

BBC One’s much-hyped Outcasts had a disappointing first night, however, with an overnight average of just under 4.5m for Episode 1.

Meanwhile, Sky Living’s new UK horror series Bedlam, set in a haunted tower block and starring Will Young, averaged 358,800 viewers for its first episode – impressive numbers for homegrown drama on the pay-TV channel.

Finally, last night’s fourth episode of Being Human Series 3 averaged an audience 1.2 million.
