Written by Mick Ford (Ashes To Ashes) and directed by Jon East, the three-part mini-series unfolds over four days across one hot summer bank holiday weekend in the Suffolk countryside. The scene of what should be a relaxing break for two couples with a long shared history becomes the backdrop to a chilling nightmare that no one could forsee, except perhaps for one person.

Episode 1
Sunday 19th August 2012, 9pm

Two couples with a long shared history embark on a bank holiday weekend in the Suffolk countryside. Working class Ian Goade, met upper class, smart and sporty Ollie Moreton at university.

The trip is supposedly a chance to relax and spend time together, as during their normal lives the couples inhabit vastly different worlds: Ian and his wife, Em, live a modest, suburban existence working as a primary school teacher and social worker. Ollie and his wife, Daisy, lead a gilded life in London that their careers as a barrister and head-hunter afford.

It should be an idyllic four days, over the last baking hot Bank Holiday weekend of the summer. However, as the stifling weather intensifies the ominous atmosphere of sexual tensions and male rivalry begin to dominate. Accumulated secrets and jealousies creep to the surface as a long held competition between the two is embarked upon with tragic consequences.

Episode 2
Sunday 26th August 2012, 9pm

As the August Bank Holiday weekend away continues for our couples, the oppressive heat only serves to heighten the growing tension and creeping sense of unease. The peace is further shattered by the arrival of Daisy’s colleague Milo whom Ian views with intense jealousy.

The rivalry between Ian and Ollie grows even stronger when Ollie suggests round two of their highly competitive ‘tri-althlon’ – tennis. Upon the discovery of two bikes, the next challenge is set. Both Ian and Ollie are brutally competitive and the race is a thrilling, white knuckle ride. That night, fuelled by alcohol and highly provocative conversation the dynamic shifts dangerously between the two men with shocking consequences.

Episode 3
Sunday 2nd September 2012, 9pm

As the gap between Ian’s perception and reality grows so does his manipulation of Ollie – whose behaviour becomes increasingly dangerous and erratic.

With emotions running high, tragedy looms and the triathlon ends in a thrilling head to head battle with devastating consequences.
