The bestselling sci-fi novel will be making its way from page to screen with this latest announcement, here’s the latest on Red Rising:

The novel by Pierce Brown has been picked up for adaptation, setting it on a path to the silver screen. The latest release of information includes who will be behind bringing the story to life.

What’s Red Rising about?

Set during a future society where humans finally move towards the aspiration to live on Mars, a system has been set up in order to help humanity survive. The system puts people into certain classes identified by a colour code, with the top level belonging to the Golds. The protagonist is a Red, belonging to the miners in the social structure. Amongst his labor intensive life, he watches someone he loves die. This tragedy leads to an uneasy truth about his life to be revealed to him, leading him to try and infiltrate society at the very top and bring the whole system down.

Who’s behind it?

Currently attached to the project are director Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games) and writer Justin Rhodes (Bioshock).
