Rick & Morty season 3 will start on Netflix VERY SOON

For those of us waiting eagerly for season 3 of Rick and Morty, the dimension hopping sci-fi animation created by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Gravity Falls, Yacht Rock – which is great, by the way), the wait is nearly over.

A story in yesterday’s Independent, has confirmed that the show will return to UK screens, via Netflix,  from July 30th. The first new episode, titled Rickmancing The Stone, will actually be the second instalment of the show’s third season. That will be three days after it airs in its US Adult Swim slot. A new Episode will then appear every subsequent Sunday until October.

The first season three ep, fans will remember, appeared out of nowhere on April 1st this year. That surprise followed criticism of the delay in getting season 3 to air from some quarters of the show’s growing fanbase. The Rickshank Redemption, saw the show’s titular heroes reunited after Rick’s stint in space prison – and his escape in a suitably dystopian sci-fi manner – and set up for a whole new series of worryingly meta adventures through time, space and various alternate realities. All in search of discontinued McDonalds Szechuan dipping sauce. We kid you not.

If you’ve not watched this show, and you like your sci-fi, get on it. It’s an absolute gem.

Here’s the season 3 trailer. Not necessarily for the squeamish.
