BBC Two’s new 18th century drama about the scandalous life of Lady Seymour Worsley will air later this month.
The Scandalous Lady W stars Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) as the titular Lady who left her husband to elope with his best friend, Captain George Bisset, played by Aneurin Barnard (The White Queen).
Endeavour actor Shaun Evans plays her powerful husband Sir Richard Worsley, who seeks compensation from her lover for the affair.
Written by David Eldridge and based on Hallie Rubenhold’s book, Lady Worsley’s Whim, the one-off 90-minute drama will air at 9pm on Monday 17 August on BBC Two.

The official synopsis reads: “As this extraordinary true story unfolds, Lady Worsley takes the brave decision to publicly expose the secrets of her marriage. The scandalous courtroom revelations challenge the hypocrisy of the law that brands a wife the property of her husband, calling into question the whole concept of a woman’s ‘worth’.”
