Sky has confirmed that the new season of Scandal will begin in the UK later this month.

The US political thriller’s third season will launch at 9pm on Thursday 31 July on Sky Living.

Scandal follows the twists and turns of crisis manager, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her team of lawyers, hackers and political insiders. Olivia, a former media consultant to the President of the United States, left the White House to open her own prominent crisis management firm and now dedicates her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation’s elite and keeping their secrets under wraps.

Season 3 sees Olivia Pope and Associates face their biggest scandal to date with surprising allegiances formed in order to get things handled. Customers will also be introduced to Olivia’s parents, each of them as despicable as the other; and learn the truth behind Fitz and Mellie’s dysfunctional relationship. The history of Cyrus and James’ relationship is revealed, and as Quinn’s career takes an unexpected path, her dark side is slowly uncovered.
