BBC One has announced that new drama The Driver, written by Danny Brocklehurst (Clocking Off, Exile, Accused), will begin later this month.

The three-part series stars David Morrissey (The Walking Dead) as taxi driver Vince McKee, an ordinary man who – because of family mystery, frustration with his job and his life – makes a terrible decision.

The Driver begins at 9pm on Tuesday 23 September on BBC One.

The cast also includes Claudie Blakeley (What Remains) as his wife, Ros, and Sacha Parkinson (Coronation Street) as their daughter Katie, alongisde Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Shaun Dingwall (Doctor Who) and Lee Ross (EastEnders).
