New US sci-fi romance drama Star-Crossed will begin in the UK at 8pm on Friday 4 April on Sky1.

When Emery Whitefall (Aimee Teegarden) was six years old, an alien spacecraft crash-landed in her small town. Whether they came in peace or with more sinister intentions didn’t matter: a fierce battle erupted as humans fought for control over the unknown Atrian race. During the conflict, six-year-old Atrian boy Roman found safety in Emery’s garden where she protected him from harm until the authorities tracked him down.

Ten years later, the Atrians have acclimatised to life on Earth, living in a heavily-guarded camp that keeps them separate from humans. Until now. For the first time, a group of Atrian teens are about to be enrolled in a suburban high school in a widely scrutinised social experiment to test the feasibility of human/alien integration. Amid the chaos of the Atrians’ first day, Emery spots a face she recognises: Roman (Matt Lanter), the boy she’d presumed had been killed 10 years ago.

Despite trying to ignore their attraction to each other, the teenagers are drawn together as their childhood bond is quickly rekindled despite their respective communities working hard to keep them apart. As the world around them rages with anger and prejudice, Emery and Roman find themselves at the beginning of a dangerous, star-crossed romance that could cost them everything – especially when a violent encounter between their fathers leads to tragedy.
