It’s been announced that The Inbetweeners will be returning in some form after an agreement between Banijay and the show’s creators Fudge Park Productions. Here’s what we know so far
TV giant Banijay UK has struck a deal with Fudge Park Productions, which was founded by Inbetweeners creators Ian Morris and Damon Beesley for a re-ignition of the cult teen comedy series.
What’s it about?
The new project is said to revolve around the same core group of characters. We last saw the group on the cusp of adulthood, fresh out of fumbling their way through school like at Rudge Park Comprehensive. Originally created as a counterbalance to the indie melodrama of Skins, The Inbetweeners is best known for its awkwardness and rooting its stories in the slight crappiness of average UK adolescence.
Meeting the group later down the line, as Morris and Beesley suggested, would mean seeing them well into adulthood. It’s possible we’ll get a recap on what’s been going on (and going wrong) since we last saw them.
What will it be?
It’s not been confirmed as of yet. Although it’s easy to expect that the new project will be another series, the deal between Banijay and Fudge Park Productions means that it can take place on TV, Film, or even the stage!
Stay tuned to find out how we’ll see the friends (ooh friends!) again.
