Impossible Dream Entertainment and Wall to Wall are set to executive produce the serialised adaptation of The Invited:

The bestselling ghost story novels from Wendy Webb are now the basis for an adaptation bound for TV. The newest release of information includes what fans of the supernatural can expect to see.

What’s The Invited about?

Drawing upon multiple stories from Webb’s works, the series is set to jump between narratives to create an expansive world where the dead still linger. Each series is set to adapt a different book, with the first adapting The End of Temperance Dare, which will follow the story of a former crime reporter suffering from PTSD. When looking for a retreat away from the horrors she’s faced for years, our protagonist unknowingly stumbles into a world filled with more darkness and mystery than anything she’s ever known before.

Details about subsequent works being adapted for following seasons are currently being kept under wraps as development on the first season continues.

Who’s attached to it?

The writing team will include Helen Black (Life and Death in the Warehouse) and Jeff Howard (The Haunting of Hill House).
