Netflix has announced the release of its latest crime thriller with a very well-known cast and a gripping premise, here’s what we know about it:
The crime thrillers are stacking up this year with Netflix announcing the release date of the brand-new project promising to hold both your attention and your breath this year. The cast list is full of faces and name you’d recognise and a premise packed with potential twists and turns.
What’s it about?
The released story outline is adapted from the novel of the same name by Alex North. This film will follow the investigation into a serial killer once children in the local neighbourhood start disappearing. There’s only one issue though – the suspected killer is believed to be in prison this entire time. The urban legend around a nursery rhyme bringing about a murderous presence seems to hold a little more legitimacy in the face of this mystery. Our protagonist is a widowed crime writer with an eight year-old son, when his child is abducted, he feels compelled to look back at his family history for help. He comes back into contact with his estranged ex-police detective father for help. Their relationship and their wits are tested as they try and solve the unusual goings-on as the clock ticks down to save his son.
Who’s in it?
The cast members catching people’s eyes are Adam Scott (Severance), Robert De Niro (Goodfellas), Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone), Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass), Owen Teague (It) and Acston Luca Porto, Will Brill (The Eyes of My Mother).
When’s it out?
The Whisper Man is releasing on Netflix on the 28th.
