Previously adapted for a Polish series, Netflix has revived the property to see what the UK will do with it after its recent greenlight, here’s what we know so far:
It’s always nice to see a Netflix series come to the UK, with productions such as Bridgerton and Black Mirror proving to be homemade hits across the globe, it adds an extra bit of excitement to any new project coming from our isle – will we have another hit on our hands? This adaptation of Harlan Coben’s The Woods had just received the stamp of production from Netflix, with a glittering cast of UK stars in tow. With this recent announcement, snippets of information about the project have been released.
What’s it about?
Two decades after our protagonist’s sister vanished without a trace from a summer camp, he sets about healing himself after the disappearance tears his family apart. Now with a stable job and a younger daughter of his own, something shows up which tips his perfectly-balanced life completely off the scales. The body of a man turns up, twenty years after he was supposedly murdered alongside his believed-to-be-dead missing sister. This plants a seed of doubt about the permanence of his sister’s disappearance, this seed encourages him to start digging to find the truth. His investigative journey leads him to uncover decades of lies, cover-ups and family secrets which pose to destroy the building blocks of his new life.

When’s it out?
The release date is yet to be announced, but the series is now officially in production.
