Shot on location in Ireland and Puerto Rico, the two-part adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel is written by Stewart Harcourt (Poirot, Marple) and directed by Steve Barron (Merlin).
The story follows Jim Hawkins, who’s unexpectedly drawn into the world of piracy when he discovers a treasure map. However, Long John Silver (Izzard) will stop at nothing to get hold of the gold for himself. As they set sail for Treasure Island, Jim embarks on an action adventure that will change his life forever.
The cast includes Daniel Mays (Doctor Who), David Harewood (Blood Diamond) and Keith Allen (The Body Farm), alongside newcomer Toby Regbo, who appeared as Young Dumbledore in the final Harry Potter film, in the role of Jim Hawkins.
