BBC Two has released a trailer for One Child, the channel’s new mini-series from Blood And Oil writer Guy Hibbert.

The three-part drama stars Katie Leung (Harry Potter, Run) as Mei, a young Chinese-born woman adopted by Anglo-American parents struggles with who she really is and where her loyalties lies.

One Child begins at 9pm on Wednesday 17 February on BBC Two.

Mei, a first-born Chinese girl adopted by an American mother and British father, is asked to return to her birthplace, Guangzhou, when her birth mother desperately seeks her assistance in saving her son. How far will Mei go to help the woman who gave her away and the brother she’s never met?

The cast also includes Sebastian So as Ajun, Linh-Dan Pham as Qianyi, Mardy Ma as Liu Ying, Donald Sumpter as Jim and Elizabeth Perkins as Katherine.
