A trailer has been unveiled for BBC One’s new adaptation of An Inspector Calls.
Set in 1912 and written by celebrated British dramatist JB Priestley, the mysterious detective thriller has been adapted for BBC One by Helen Edmundson.
An Inspector Calls airs at 8.30pm on Sunday 13 September on BBC One.
David Thewlis (Harry Potter) leads the cast as The Inspector, alongside Ken Stott (The Hobbit) as Arthur Birling and Miranda Richardson (Mapp & Lucia) as his wife Sybil Birling.

The official synopsis reads: “Following the suicide of a young woman from the local town, an inspector (David Thewlis) calls unexpectedly to interrogate the wealthy Birling family. As their world unravels, each member of the family is revealed to have unwittingly played a part in her demise.
“Set at a time when society was transforming and women’s lives were about to change forever, An Inspector Calls is considered to be one of the classics of 20th century theatre.”
