Two crime dramas came to an end last Sunday with Vera continuing to draw in more viewers than What Remains.
Doc Martin, the GP with the bedside manner that even Dr Crippen would baulk at returned to ITV on Monday with a healthy 7.6m (32.6%).
ITV has released a trailer for the sixth series of Doc Martin, which begins next week.
