Back in 1987, Dan Ackroyd and a fresh-faced Tom Hanks starred in a big-screen, comedic adaptation of the 1950s US cop TV show, Dragnet. Whether the film is a slice of genius or otherwise, we couldn’t say (we borrowed the DVD from our friend Laura three years ago and never watched it, sadly) but one thing that’s definitely of interest is the preposterous (yet curiously catchy) accompanying song, ‘City of Crime’ – a hip hop number performed by Ackroyd and Hanks themselves.
