But who are the perpetrators?

Award-winning independent film director Sean Dunne has produced In Search of the Most Dangerous Town on the Internet, a brand new documentary for Norton by Symantec.

The 20-minute documentary in a fascinating exploration of cybercrime and hacker culture, taking a look at the socioeconomic factors that affect Romania’s underground information economy.

In Search of the Most Dangerous Town on the Internet features interviews with convicted a number of hackers and scammers, whose list of targets includes everyone from NASA, the European Space Agency, George Bush and Hillary Clinton to even UK’s Royal Navy.

Of course, hacking itself isn’t illegal unless you’re compromising a system without the owner’s permission – lots of big companies now pay hackers to better secure their own systems.
