Created by Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty, Bodies), Critical is a 13-part series is set in a state-of-the-art Major Trauma Centre, which treats only the most gravely ill or seriously injured. Each episode features a new and distinctive case told with thrilling intensity, within 60-minutes of real-time action.
Whether that patient lives or dies is determined by knife-edge decisions and procedures, but can the diverse team of medical professionals knit together and rise to the challenge? It is a series about medicine where a single team of medics hold a life in their hands, but in every case they face the agonisingly real fear that it could slip through their fingers.
Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Line of Duty) leads an ensemble cast as locum trauma consultant Dr. Glen Boyle. Catherine Walker (Strike Back) plays trauma registrar Fiona Lomas and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) is trauma consultant Lorraine Rappaport. Finally, junior doctor Dr. “Harry” Bennett-Edwardes is played by Kimberley Nixon (Fresh Meat).
Compelling interviews with the cast are included among six other behind the scenes featurettes on the DVD extras.
