Ahead of the second series of BBC One’s Sherlock next year, BBC Books have published a new edition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet, which the show’s debut episode took as its inspiration.

The book features an introduction by Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat. BBC Books will also be releasing a new edition of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in October, with an introduction by Mark Gatiss.
