It may be a far cry from Top Gear, but Clarkson’s Farm is breaking new ground when it comes to UK audiences

Now on its fourth season, Clarkson’s Farm is raking in impressive audience numbers, at least here in the UK. We’ve been taking a look at the BARB 7-day consolidated numbers for the past few weeks and we’re impressed.

How good are the Clarkson’s Farm numbers?

The BARB numbers are easiest considered from their dashboard, displays the 50 most-watched programmes across all broadcast channels and SVOD services for the chosen week. In the UK any given week will see this dominated by live sport, soaps and the big shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing, Traitors and so on. Here and there an episode from a streaming service will appear, often midway down.

Now look at the top 15 for the week 19-25 May:

A little blurred, but the outcome is clear — all four episodes in the chart, with three of them out-performing Coronation Street! The chart for the week just gone is similar:

Only two big shows had more viewers than Clarkson!

What does it all mean?

While the UK is only a fraction of the global audience for Prime Video, it must surely mean a season 5 is to be expected. We see various rumours it is being filmed, others saying it will then take a break. Whatever happens, we’ll let you know.
