We are all desperate in figuring out what each character’s fate will be and how the show will eventually end (secretly praying it doesn’t end EVER). Game of Thrones is one of those TV shows that enters your veins and will stay there for as long as you live. In particular, this is due to the suspense, to the mystery, to the unexpected episode endings, the storyline, and, ah, the characters. But what became an epic treasure-hunt-like trend on social media is the search for hidden clues about the future of the characters. We look at past episodes, we look at actors’ private-life photos and hope for a spoiler, and we read conspiracy theories and try to come up with our own… just to survive that year-long-gap between one and another season.
But this time is different. This time we know that the show comes to an end next year. And this time, we’re out of our minds, literally. We just cannot accept the fact that this incomparable show is ending and that’s why we look even further into details and clues that will give us at least a light of hope that the producers will change their minds and keep this incredible show alive. In the meantime, we barely breathe and we keep ourselves occupied in any way we can by basic strategy blackjack learning, watching senseless TV shows, going out without interest and whatnot.
So far, we’ve learned no such a thing. On the contrary, what we’ve learned from the cast is that winter is coming and that it will be too bitter-sweet to survive it. She did not say it with the same words, but Emilia Clarke, Mother of Dragons said that she was an emotional wreck filming the last episode and that the finale really broke her. Later on, she said her goodbyes with her colleagues and her fans, meaning… that’s it. It’s all over.
Although Sophie Turner, a.k.a. Sansa Stark said she finished filming long before many of her colleagues, leaving us with the presumption that she dies, she left us confused with her new GOT-related tattoo. The tattoo is, by the way, the best! It has a meaning both generally and to her, obviously, and it looks so powerful. But that’s not our topic. We were interested in finding out whether the entire Stark family (well, the ones left alive so far) survived or is the meaning behind the tattoo that in the end, a Stark, any of the Starks, will keep the throne? Or, Jon, being half-Targaryen half-Stark may continue the Stark line (with Khaleesi maybe?) and be the one and only king of the Seven Kingdoms? Later on, Sophie explained that the tattoo is not a spoiler (duh, she must say that, right?) and that she is, just like us, amazed with the message behind those three words “The pack survives”.
And finally, Maisie Williams or the ‘girl that has no name’ or Aria Stark, whichever you want to, has recently posted an Instagram photo of her with bloody shoes and a hashtag ‘lastwomanstanding’. If that’s not a spoiler, I don’t know what is!?! GOT is all about killing and blood, and this post might mean that everyone dies and she is the only Stark that survives. Although the odds are poor, who knows? Please, please 2019, come already!
