The BBC have confirmed the start of filming on Juice series 2.
The surreal comedy, written by and starring Mawaan Rizwan, follows Jamma – a young man on a quest for attention.
Debuting in 2023, the award-winning show followed Jamma as he navigated work life and relationships with his family, and with his boyfriend Guy (Russell Tovey).
Here’s the setup for Juice series 2:
In the new series Jamma’s clowning around has landed him at the heart of a perfect storm: jobless, sofa-surfing and single. When a mysterious stranger offers to unburden him from his clownish ways to win Guy back, Jamma must decide if the risk is worth the reward.
Returning alongside Rizwan and Tovey are Nabhaan Rizwan as his brother Issac, Shahnaz Rizwan as their mother Farida, Jeff Mirza as father Saif and Emily Lloyd-Saini as Winnie.
Plus, we can look forward to guest appearances from Mark Gatiss (Bookish) and Tamara Lawrance (Time).
Mawaan Rizwan said:
“We back baby! This series is wilder, weirder and even a bit scary. The team are on fire and the cast are funnier than ever. Brace yourself. The storm is coming.”
Juice is a VAL production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. The producer is Maisah Thompson and the director is Eros V.
