Loki – Season 2 trailer drops
Everyone’s favourite trickster god returns as Marvel reveal the trailer for Loki Season 2.
Way back in May, Marvel dropped the release date for Loki‘s second run.
Despite the trickster god’s repeated big screen deaths, in 2019 he enjoyed a thoroughly engaging adventure on Disney+. Now Loki, the only MCU series (so far) to score a second season, is coming back. The trailer offers a sense of where this follow-up run of episodes is headed.
Within the first moments, we discover that Loki suffers from an affliction called timeslipping, which looks to be the catalyst for a new storyline. Pulled through time, he seemingly comes to understand the threat of the MCU’s new big bad: Kang. Presumably, his temporal instability is as a result of Sylvie’s actions at the end of season 1, which left our Loki trapped in a reality where he was unknown to the Time Variance Authority.
With the season seemingly doubling down on the brilliant dynamic between Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius, we also meet Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as a worker at the TVA.
Season 2 also stars Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku and Jonathan Majors, with Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr and Neil Ellice rounding out the cast.
With the trailer, there’s a fetching new poster too…
The season’s directors are Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani. The head writer is Eric Martin. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Eric Martin and Michael Waldron are the executive producers. Trevor Waterson is the co-executive producer.
Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 begins streaming on 6th October, on Disney+.
