Your health is without a doubt the most precious thing that you have. You have to do everything that you possibly can to take care of it, as you only get one. Of course, this is much easier said than done, given all the temptations out there today. From smoking to drinking, drug abuse, and eating bad foods, there are tons of bad decisions that one can make. The only problem is, most people don’t realize the choices they are making until they see others in similar situations. Luckily, Hollywood is willing to portray roles like this to make people aware. And, they’ve done so with the following flicks.

Unplanned

This one might be a little different health-related than you’d imagine, as it is anti-abortion. It is based on the memoir of Abby Johnson who is played by Ashley Bratcher and considered the film’s main protagonist. She is the director of a clinic of a Planned Parenthood and later becomes the main activist of the anti-abortion movement. The movie depicts her life along with that of her husband and daughter, as it flashback to some of the most pivotal moments. The audience will not only get to view her in her present form, but they’ll be taken back to her early life when she assisted with her first abortion.

This movie not only touched people on a health level while also receiving fantastic responses and critic, but it had a huge impact on morale, religion, and political aspects for many.

Happy

This one might be a little different as well, given that it really depicts more mental health than physical health, although mental health can turn to be just as much as physical as any other illness. Nonetheless, you’ve likely found yourself imagining that you have one of the worst lives on earth. You’ve probably found yourself feeling sorry for yourself on more than one occasion, feeling like no one has it worse. Well, a lot of people feel like this even though they know its not the case at all.

This documentary does more than an excellent job of depicting just how not true this is. From rickshaw drivers to Cajun fisherman and cohousing parents, director Roko Belic does an excellent job of depicting just how bad some people truly do have it. Some of the most notable cases are the young Japanese workers who put so much into their careers that they end up driving themselves to early graves. The real-world examples in this movie will hopefully help many learn to value their lives.

In Defense Of Food

Some people think of health as something abstract. Some people think of it as something that could lead to a healthier life and lifestyle. Whatever the situation is, In Defense of Food will make you completely rethink everything that you thought about being healthy. It is based on one of the best-selling books and shows how too much healthy can be bad. How people can take exercise, eating healthily, and trying to live healthy to a point where it becomes unhealthy. This is truly an eye-opening documentary that should still change the way you think about food and your eating habits.

Even though some individuals do take some things too far, it is entirely possible to achieve both a happier and healthier life by making some minor changes in your diet or other vices.
