It’s a first look at their raucous and exuberant 80s neon western starring Jason Flemyng.
Ahead of its 2023 launch, Sky have delivered a teaser for their upcoming 1980s drama A Town Called Malice.
The show follows a family of former London gangsters who’ve relocated to the Costa del Sol. Spain offers them a chance to re-invent themselves, but can they stop battling each other?
A Town Called Malice is described as a “… high-octane, neon Western is a musical love letter to the ’80s – filled with romance, obsession, violence, deceit, and swagger.”
Drenched in neon, and backed by Cutting Crew’s (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight, the show leans heavily into its eighties setting. With plenty of guns, big hair and intense looks, this might be a lot of fun! We imagine the soundtrack will be worth a listen too.
The show boasts an impressive cast too, led by Jason Flemyng, Jack Rowan, Tahirah Sharif and Martha Plimpton. Its ensemble also features Dougray Scott, Lex Shrapnel, Daniel Sharman, George Jaques and Eliza Butterworth.
A Town Called Malice comes from writer Nick Love (Bulletproof) and is a co-production between Vertigo Films, Rogue State & Sky Studios. The lead director is Jamie Donoughue (A Discovery of Witches) and the series producer Andy Noble (Killing Eve).
Running for 8 episodes, it lands in 2023 on Sky Max and NOW.
