The BBC has released the official trailer for Beyond Paradise series 4 and Humphrey has an impossible decision to make

With Comic Relief this Friday, the final episodes of series 15 of Death in Paradise is delayed until next week, making a double bill with the first episode of Beyond Paradise series 4. We’ve had plenty of publicity, including details on guest cast. Now we have the official trailer.

What does the Beyond Paradise official trailer tell us

First here’s the BBC’s own summary:

New mysteries and puzzling cases await DI Humphrey Goodman and the team in Shipton Abbott. Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.

Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever.

As to the trailer, all we get in 25 seconds is house-hunting, some running around Shipton Abbot, a reminder of how accident prone Humphrey can be and a return to the clash between local policing and modern central policing. The show has never shied away from its outdated approach in a modern world, now it looks like the bean counters are set to change the show forever. We shall see.
