Boiling Point – BBC announces series based on the award winning film
After huge critical acclaim, the BBC have commissioned to follow on from the award-winning Boiling Point.
The intense drama, set in a pressured restaurant kitchen, was directed by Philip Barantini and starred Stephen Graham (Line of Duty, The Walk-In).
Filmed in a single take, it sees an emotionally scarred London chef wrangling with his team on the busiest day of the year. Joining Graham, the cast also included Vinette Robinson, Hannah Walters and Jason Flemying.
Now, the BBC have commissioned a five-part series to take the story further. Picking up six months later, the show sees Sous Chef Carly (Vinette Robinson) as Head Chef at her own restaurant. Both Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters will reprise their roles as Andy and Emily in the series.
The series will also reunite the film’s co-writer and director Philip Barantini, who will helm the first two episodes, and co-writer James Cummings.
Executive producers are stars Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters for Matriarch Productions; Hester Ruoff and Bart Ruspoli for Ascendant Fox; Philip Barantini for Made Up Productions, Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC, and James Cummings.
