Call the Midwife renewed for two more series ahead of series ten starting this Sunday

Call the Midwife is back for series 10 this Sunday, April 18 at 8pm on BBC 1. It was filmed under new Covid rules, and follows the most recent Christmas special. The BBC likes renewing this show in pairs. Series 10 was part of the renewal we previously reported on back in 2019. That announcement referred to series 10 and series 11. That means series 12 and 13 have been confirmed, so (with the series starting this week) we have a total of four more series of Call the Midwife to look forward to. Presumably there will also be a few Christmas specials as well.

Heidi Thomas, Creator, Writer and Executive Producer, says:

“It’s an incredible privilege to be able to look back on a decade of Call The Midwife, and yet know that our journey is still very far from over. We are thrilled to be going on for a few more years! Like Nonnatus House itself, we have a proud past but an even more exciting future — full of old favourites, fresh faces, higher hemlines, new ideas. The stories we tell are like babies — they never stop coming, we love them all, and we vow to do our best by every single one.”
