The brand new series announced for Prime Video has surprised many fans of the original, here’s the latest we have on Carrie:

The cult classic film is a must-watch for many germinating horror lovers, inspiring many iterations of teenage girl angst since. The latest release about the upcoming series promises to build on what the film may have missed.

What’s Carrie about?

The brand new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel follows the high school outcast character we have come to expect. Focussing on the coming of age aspect of the tale, the plot will follow our titular protagonist as she navigates a protective mother and online persecution as the classic story will now shift to be told against a more contemporary backdrop. The timing of the episodes will allow more insight into the development of Carrie’s powers, and perhaps look at the consequences too.

Who’s in it?

The cast list of recurring roles includes Summer Howell (Curse of Chucky), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass), Siena Agudong (Resident Evil), Alison Thornton (What Comes Next), Joel Oulette (Can I Get a Witness?), Josie Totah (Back in the Game), Arthur Conti (Beeltejuice Beetlejuice), Thalia Dudek (Better Man), Amber Midthunder (Novocaine) and Matthew Lillard (Scream).

When’s it out?
