AmazonMGM’s new comedy has slowly started to reveal its stars, here’s everything we know about the upcoming project so far:

What’s it about?

Chasing the charm of earlier mid-budget studio comedies, this project will tell the story of a couple consisting of two psychologists who have their expertise tested in a very unexpected ways. The pair find themselves in the unfortunate predicament of being held hostage at a hotel with a Crime Boss and their less-than-functional family. The couple do what they can to try and neutralise the situation, but their own parenting approaches face some clashes and are very much put to the test. Will their relationship be able to survive with them?

Who’s in it?

The project is still being formed, so it has a very small cast list but don’t be fooled, this list packs a mighty strong punch. The lead roles have been attached to the huge names of Eddie Murphy (Coming to America) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives). The pair have already starred alongside one another in a previous AmazonMGM project, 2025’s The Pickup.

Who’s behind it?

Although there’s not a lot of crew currently announced, John Davis (Song Sung Blue) has been named as a producer. He also worked on The Pickup with Murphy and Longoria, so this new project acts as a reunion for the trio. The film was picked up from the novel by Julianna Baggott, who isn’t currently attached as a writer on the team, but it wouldn’t be unexpected to see her name crop up again on this project in the future.

When’s it out?

The project is currently in very early stages of development, so it’s likely we’ll be seeing more announcements in the future as the cast and crew grow before finding out when to expect the feel-good comedy.
