Channel 4 have announced a generous hoard of festive specials they’re going to broadcasting this Christmas and New Year, including Bake Off, The Last Leg, The Crystal Maze and more…
A staple on the BBC and one carried over onto Channel 4, The Great British Bake Off will return for two Yuletide specials later this year. Four merry bakers from Bake Off past are set to join Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding as they do battle in festive-themed challenges. But it’ll ultimately be down to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to decide who wins the festive Star Baker title.
LEGO Masters is currently airing on Channel 4 and it’ll formally return for a seasonal special. The Build Room will open its doors to celebrity challengers as they pair up with some memorable past contestants from series 1 and 2 in a host of festive- themed builds. Host Melvin Odoom will get in the Christmas spirit alongside judges Matthew Ashton and Fran Scott.
Celebrity Big Brother UK winner and The Bi Life hostess Courtney Act has booked her own holiday special. She’ll be anchoring The Courtney Act Show, boasting an array of celebrity guests, studio items and music numbers in what Channel 4 have dubbed the world’s first dragazine show.
The Last Leg is also set to return for some irreverent festive larks in two specials – on at Christmas and one at New Year. Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker will be awarding the – eh – Dick of the Year award once again. Will US President Donald Trump take the gong home once again?
The Crystal Maze will have its own Christmas special, too, where a bemused Richard Ayoade will guide a celebrity team of haplessly enthusiastic adventurers around a special panto-themed Maze. Captaining the team will be Christopher Biggins, leading Deborah Meaden, Jamie Laing, Frankie Bridge and Chris Kamara with some surprising celebrity cameos and a pantomime cow along the way.
