The show stars David Morrisey and Aimee Lou Wood as father and daughter.
The BBC have announced that their sitcom Daddy Issues is returning for a second 6-part series.
The show stars Aimee Lou Wood as Gemma – a young woman who finds herself pregnant and is forced to flatshare with her hapless father Malcolm (David Morrissey).
Hilarious and heartwarming, Daddy Issues arrived in August and has become BBC Three’s biggest comedy launch of recent years.
The show also stars Sharon Rooney as Gemma’s sister Catherine who’s in prison, and Susan Lynch as her mother Davina who’s off traveling to find herself in the wake of her divorce from Malcolm. The wider ensemble includes Sarah Hadland, Taj Atwal, Arian Nik and David Fynn.
Speaking about the recommission, writer Danielle Ward said:
“A second series? And I’ve found out by reading this press release? Unbelievable. I’m thrilled to be writing for Aimee and David (and the rest of this fabulous cast) again. I love the Moscrips and can’t wait to crack on with their continuing adventures. Sure a bit of a break would be nice but my hair will grow back, right?”
Star Aimee Lou Wood adds:
“Daddy Issues is the most fun I’ve ever had on a job and I can’t wait to do it again! I’m so excited to see what Danielle has cooking for Malcolm, Gemma, Sadie and the gang. I just know it’s going to be hilarious and heart melting.”
David Morrissey said:
“I’m delighted to be doing another series of Daddy Issues. Working with Aimee was a dream, and Danielle’s writing is so funny and heartwarming! Can’t wait!”
