Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey return in Daddy Issues third series, which will also be it’s last

BBC Three’s biggest comedy launch since the start of 2022 is set to return.

What do we know about Daddy Issues third season

Filmed and set in Stockport, Greater Manchester, the show follows Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) coming to terms with life as a mum, with support from her hapless father Malcolm (David Morrissey). Luckily, she can also rely on best friend Cherry (Taj Atwal), boss Rita (Sarah Hadland) and sister Catherine (Sharon Rooney), all whilst trying to keep Malcolm’s best friend Derek (David Fynn) at arm’s length.

From the press release, we learn:

The new series sees Gemma 18 months on from where we left her in series two, and life has settled into a familiar rhythm. Her baby, Sadie, is now in nursery, Gemma’s been promoted at the salon and Malcolm has just ordered a fancy new washing machine to optimise the laundry. Things might finally be on an even keel for the Moscrips — so maybe there’s space for Gemma to finally find love? However, it doesn’t take long for chaotic ‘old Gemma’ to rear her head; a romantic encounter escalates into a whole heap of problems, and there’s only one person she can turn to – her dad, who might finally have become the grown-up she always knew he could be.

The series has yet to film. We’ll bring more news as we get it, until then you can catch the previous seasons on iPlayer.
