Netflix’s post-apocalyptic comedy drama series Daybreak will not return for a second season. News of the show’s axing emerged this week, though series co-creator Aron Eli Coleite has known about Daybreak‘s ultimate fate at the streaming service for a little while longer, posting on Twitter that he was sorry it wouldn’t be continuing on.

“We learned last week that Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” Coleite wrote. “We’re so sorry we couldn’t share it with you sooner but also so grateful that we got to hang out.”
Daybreak starred Colin Ford, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sophie Simnett, Austin Crute, Cody Kearsley, Jeanté Godlock, Gregory Kaysan, Krysta Rodriguez and Matthew Broderick, and received good reviews, but apparently not enough eyes on screens to land a renewal.
