Death in Paradise has revealed several guest stars for next year’s series 10.
While filming has obviously been delayed, the Death in Paradise team has found time to update its Facebook page with pictures of several of the guest stars to appear in series 10 of the ever-popular show. Series 9 started on BBC1 on January 9 2020, but no date has yet been announced for series 10, but we do, now, have details on who we can expect to visit the island of Saint Marie.
So far announced are: comedian Jason Manford, I May Destroy You’s Shalisha James-Davis, Casualty’s Patrick Robinson, The Salisbury Poisoning’s Faye McKeever, Our Girl’s Luke Pasqualino, and 1917’s Richard McCabe. We also know Joséphine Jobert will be back as DS Florence Cassell and it will be interesting to see how she takes to new detective Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and her replacement Madeleine Dumas (Aude Legastelois).
If you’ve never tried Death in Paradise, you’ve missed out. Thursday evening viewing in January has been rewarded with an hour’s escapism in a light-weight police procedural set on the fictional Caribbean Island of Saint Marie, notional British but with French culture (it’s actually filmed on the French island of Guadeloupe). While the weekly murders give a reason for Detective Parker and team to show off their detective skills, it’s all about the fabulous scenery. Death in Paradise is a fish out of water show, and tells how a sequence of British detectives transfer to the island and are changed by the setting, people and culture as they grow to love being there. Ralf Little is the fourth lead, and took over from Ardal o’Hanlon during series 9.
