Dragon Slayers promises to be a revealing and engaging insight into a key figure in the world of printed press, here’s what we know:

A recent announcement of from the BBC has revealed another factual drama is underway, with details such as the overall premise and cast being announced.

What’s Dragon Slayers about?

This upcoming project will follow the life and work of Sir Harry Evans, former editor of The Sunday Times. He and his investigative team paved the way for investigative journalism as a whole and broke some of the biggest stories in the history of the UK. Such stories include spearheading the campaign for compensation for victims of thalidomide, exposing the cover-up of the double-agent Kim Philby, uncovering the causes behind the deadly DC-10 Paris Airliner crash, leading a campaign for cervical cancer screenings and a campaign against the framing of a murder suspect when working at The Northern Echo.

Needless to say, there’s a lot of material to work with for this upcoming long-form series.

Who’s in it?

The currently announced cast for Dragon Slayers includes Matthew Rhys (Widow’s Bay) taking on the main role of Sir Harry Evans. More cast members will be announced in the future.

Who’s behind it?

The series will be written by Peter Bowker (The A Word) and Annalisa Dinnella (The Hack), it’ll be directed by Al Mackay (The Cage).
