The Game of Thrones spin off moves towards production.
With all the focus on the fiery action of House of the Dragon, which lands its second series in June, it’s easy to forget that there’s another Game of Thrones related show in the offing.
“Dunk and Egg”, more properly known as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, adapts George R.R. Martin’s series of fantasy novellas following the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (“Dunk) and his squire, the young Aegon V Targaryen (“Egg”).
Now, thanks to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, the casting for those two lead roles has been revealed.
Peter Claffey (Bad Sisters, Vikings: Valhalla) will play Ser Duncan the Tall, while Dexter Sol Ansell (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) takes on the role of his squire Egg.
The series synopsis says:
“Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
According to EW, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is due on Max in late 2025.
We’ll keep you posted.
