Apple TV acquires Dustfall starring Anna Torv
The show is written by Dianne Taylor and directed by Emma Freeman
What is Dustfall
If the picture above is looking familiar, it’s because we covered the BBC’s acquisition of the same show last year. There’s been no sign of a date from the BBC, and we understand the show doesn’t premiere on ABC Australia until next week. It will be interesting to see if and when UK subscribers to Apple TV get to see the show. From Apple TV’s own press release, they will premiere the show in 2027, excluding in Australia, where it screens on ABC and ABC iview, and is subject to premiere rights held by the BBC and ZDF in their respective territories.
As to the actual show, it’s described as:
a propulsive, atmospheric tropic noir that follows a seasoned detective, Antigone “Tig” Pollard (Torv) whose deep sense of justice is challenged by a world where victims are doubted, predators hide in plain sight and the legal system too often falls short. Tig is called in to investigate a harrowing sexual assault case that spirals darker after a key suspect turns up dead. As Tig hunts for the truth, she’s forced to confront long-buried secrets from her own adolescence.
Further cast details are in the Apple TV link. When we learn more, or get a trailer, we’ll let you know.
