Eternity — date and trailer for Apple TV’s supernatural romance

Apple TV has released a trailer for upcoming supernatural romance Eternity and confirmed a February release

While marked as currently showing in cinemas (which we believe to be US only), romantic supernatural film Eternity comes to Apple TV February 13. Yes, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

What is Eternity about

Unlike some films (and shows) we might mention, the description for the film (from Apple TV) really does grab the attention:

In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) and her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.

While further details are scarce, we were reminded in some way of Meryl Streep’s 1991 film Defending Your Life (see IMDB). There the summary is:

Daniel Miller (Albert Brooks) isn’t having a good week. For starters, he died after he got hit by a bus. Then he discovers that in the afterlife he must defend his actions on Earth in order to ascend to a higher plane of existence. While awaiting judgment, he falls in love with Julia (Meryl Streep), whose near-perfect life on Earth seemingly makes her a shoe-in for ascension. However, Daniel’s actions in his lifetime might not be enough for him to move on.

Not exactly similar, but a film worth looking out for as we believe this new one will be. If you need more persuasion, here’s the trailer:
