What’s it about?
Prisoner 951 is set to retell the true story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian citizen who had been thrown in prison and held by the Iranian state for six years as her Husband, Richard Ratcliffe, campaigned for her return. The story follows Nazanin’s arrest at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran and the six years of imprisonment and protest that followed.
Who’s in it?
Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale) is set to star alongside Narges Rashidi (Gangs of London) and Yasaman Mohsani (Gangs of London).
Who’s behind it?
The mini series will be written by Stephen Butchard (This City Is Ours) and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe (The Crown). It’s being produced alongside Dancing Ledge Productions (The Salisbury Poisonings).
When’s it out?
Prisoner 951 is set to be released later this year, with no specific release date confirmed yet. It will be made available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
