For All Mankind gets season 3 renewal ahead of season 2 release

Apple TV has renewed its alternate history show For All Mankind for a third season, though we’ve yet to see season 2

For All Mankind season 2 is due February 19 2021 and Apple TV has already given the green light for season 3. This previously happened for season 2 ahead of season 1 release, so well done everyone involved. Rotten Tomatoes aggregate scores for season 1 were 73% for critics and 86% for audience approval, so that two big boxes ticked.

If you don’t know, the premise of the show is: Imagine a World where the global space race never ended.

Created by Ronald D Moore (Outlander, Battlestar Galactica) it focusses on the role of NASA in the centre of events in a world where Soviet Russia was first to the Moon! The very first episode was called Red Moon, the same name as audio drama by Robert Valentine, made for the Wireless Theatre Company (and available here for free.)

Back to the TV show, season 2 promises to follow events in 1983. The Cold War continues with President Ronald Reagan overseeing a time when the ignoble pursuit of lunar minerals takes precedence over the nobility of pure science. You can see the official teaser trailer here.
