STARZPLAY’s happy relationship with Hulu continues, as the Amazon Prime Video UK channel has secured the rights to the streamer’s Four Weddings And A Funeral TV series, which debuted stateside earlier this year. Four Weddings And A Funeral will join other Hulu shows like Castle Rock and Mr. Mercedes on STARZPLAY, and if you’re a subscriber you’ll be able to catch it from 12th December.

The TV version of Four Weddings And A Funeral stars Natalie Emmanuel, Nikesh Patel, John Reynolds, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Brandon Mychal Smith and Zoe Boyle, and follows four American friends — Maya, Craig, Ainsley, and Duffy — who get back together for a London wedding. A bombshell at the altar throws all their lives into turmoil, and the series explores the romance and heartbreak that transpires over the next year of their lives.

The series was developed by Mindy Kaling and Richard Curtis, among others, and received mixed reviews when it first aired.

Vulture said the show was “missing a crucial ingredient that was key to the movie’s success and, for that matter, the success of any romantic comedy worth its schmaltz: a sense of charm” while The Guardian admitted that though Four Weddings And A Funeral was “never less than watchable” the writing was “patchy, forcing in a few too many awkward pop culture references and crowbarring in character detail in an often painfully clumsy way.”

You can decide for yourself in December.
