E4 is set to bring back 8 Out Of 10 Cats – the panel show about opinions, polls and statistics – after the series spent the best part of years off the air. Here’s what we know about the comedy show’s comeback…
Channel 4 made the announcement on its website, offering this summary of the new series of the show:
“Made by Zeppotron, part of Endemol Shine UK, the show will see Jimmy Carr again overseeing proceedings. Team captain Rob Beckett also returns along with rotating guest captains on the opposing team, including Aisling Bea, Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Kerry Godliman, Tom Allen and Roisin Conaty. Joining the team captains each week will be a range of well-known celebrity faces, as well as fresh, up and coming comic talent.”
10 new episodes are on the way, with E4 set to begin broadcasting them in March.
Jimmy Carr offered this statement:
“I’m really excited that 8 Out of 10 Cats is returning to E4. What Britain needs now more than ever, is a panel show about surveys and statistics. Well, that and six months’ supply of food and medicine.”
And team captain Rob Beckett added this:
“I am absolutely buzzing that 8 out of 10 Cats is coming back. It’s an honour and a privilege to be a part of a show that has become an institution of British comedy. This is my third series now and will hopefully be the one where my dad stops calling it 9 Out of 10 Cats.”
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
