The sixth season of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will make it onto our screens in May 2019, a special Valentine’s Day video has revealed. You can watch the promo, in which love is in the air, right here.
Here’s the promo video, which reminds us of some of the show’s most weirdly romantic moments before dropping a ‘MAY 2019’ tag at the end…

Our previous best bet for the show’s return was July 2019, thanks to an exchange that Henstridge had with a fan on Twitter (which Spoiler TV reported). But it’s nice to know that the show will actually return in May – a little bit earlier than we expected, but still a long way off the show’s original September premiere date.
Indeed, this marks the second year in a row that Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been pushed to an irregular slot. The first four seasons premiered, like clockwork, in the last week of September. But season 5 was pushed back to December to accommodate the launch of Marvel’s Inhumans, and now season 6 is coming in May.
This season of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will consist of 13 episodes, instead of the usual 22. The season premiere will be directed by Clark Gregg (the actor who usually portrays Agent Coulson), who will also play a mysterious new character, from a script by co-showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The season 6 premiere is entitled Missing Pieces.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. Season 7 of the show has also been ordered, so there should be plenty more SHIELD news to share in the coming months.
